When we talk about aesthetics, the term beauty quickly comes to mind. We make this association almost unconsciously. And it is true that they are very related words. Many times we can only opt for surgical treatments since it is practically impossible to achieve any improvement if an intervention is not carried out that directly eliminates the excess tissue. We will hardly be able to eliminate excess skin and fat accumulated over the years through creams, infiltrations or other skin treatments. In other words, many times depending on the state of our face, it will be more convenient to opt for a surgical treatment or an aesthetic one through the application of infiltrations or other types of products. It is also true that surgical treatment can be complemented with an aesthetic treatment that helps in the healing process and tissue regeneration after the intervention.

But it is known by all that the incidence of the sun on our skin also accelerates the effects of the passage of time, in particular the appearance of wrinkles.
For this reason, the best guarantee of success is undoubtedly to anticipate its appearance and treat our skin from the first moment. Or at least start treating it when the effects of the passage of time are still relatively mild. Treatments such as injections of hyaluronic acid or botulinum toxin (Botox) are more effective when the skin is not too damaged.

If we look at the etymological meaning of the word, we can see that it is composed of the prefix “meso”, which means medium, in relation to the area where it is applied: in the middle of the lesion. Although it also has a second meaning in reference to the fact that "average" doses are used for treatment by mesotherapy. This is because at the time it was discovered that to treat certain diseases it was more effective to administer a smaller dose (half or meso) than to prescribe a full dose.
In short, we are talking about a type of therapy in which relatively small or medium doses located in the middle of the lesion or area to be treated are used.
Most aesthetic treatments, in general, consist of micro-infiltration injections at the subcutaneous level to improve the physical appearance of the patient. Vitamins, amino acids, or some other type of medication are usually injected.
But at Clínica Castanera, we go one step further and perform injections of what are known as growth factors or PRGF.
Growth factors are elements found naturally in the blood. Specifically in platelets. Let us remember that one of the functions of platelets is to regenerate tissues when we injure ourselves. In other words, one of the main characteristics of growth factors is that they have great regenerative power. And it is precisely this fact that is of great help to us when carrying out a treatment such as mesotherapy, because thanks to it we will be able to restore the lost luminosity and vitality to the face.
First of all, what we need is to be able to extract and isolate this substance. For this we need to perform a small blood draw from the patient. Next, the blood is placed in a centrifuge and, simply by precipitation, the red blood cells are separated from the platelets, which are rich in growth factors.
The last step consists of injecting the plasma rich in growth factors on the patient's face. The infiltrations are carried out at the subcutaneous level directly on the wrinkles or expression marks.
Once the treatment is finished, the skin regenerates, the expression marks are attenuated and we recover the lost firmness. The face regains a much more rejuvenated and fresh appearance.
The great advantage of this treatment, in addition to being very effective, is that it does not produce any type of rejection or allergic reaction because it is the patient's own blood.
There is another type of treatment performed with the mesotherapy technique called Skinbooster. The main difference between this and the previous one is that, instead of growth factors, what is infiltrated is hyaluronic acid combined with a cocktail of facial vitamins.
The effectiveness of this type of treatment lies in the combination of two very powerful substances. Thanks to them, it is possible to re-provide our face with vitality and energy.
