The endothelial cells are found in the innermost layer of the cornea and have great reluctance since they are responsible for maintaining the transparency of the cornea itself. It is important to control that we have a good density and quality of endothelial cells to make sure that our cornea is in good condition, since this is linked with our visual acuity.
The count of endothelial cells is made by a specular microscope with a simple shot. In this way we obtain the image that appears on the bottom in which the size, density and shape of these cells are shown.
