Dry eye is one of the most annoying eye conditions. It is caused by improper lubrication of the ocular surface. This produces a sensation of dryness or grit inside the eye, so that we are forced to blink constantly to try to hydrate the eye, or to use an artificial tear. The root of the problem is found in the obstruction of some glands, called Meibomian glands, responsible for lubricating the tear itself with natural oils. This makes the tear too watery, that it evaporates more quickly and that we have the constant need to blink to re-lubricate the eye.
In our practice we have multiple alternatives to stimulate and improve the normal secretion of these glands and regain the quality of our tears in a very short time.
