Palpebral ptosis
Treatment for drooping or drooping of the upper eyelid
Eyelid ptosis, or blepharoptosis, is the drooping or lowering of the upper eyelid of at least one eye, thus occluding part of the eyeball. This drooping of the eyelids can have multiple causes. The consequence is an abnormal or incomplete functioning of the muscle responsible for lifting the eyelid.
The aim of this type of surgery is to lift the eyelid and thus “clear” the affected visual field. To determine the most appropriate procedure, the ophthalmologist must take into account a series of factors (age, eyelid height, muscle strength, etc.).
